That’s the truth, Truth.

I want to be a success story in my line of work. There are many ways to get there. Sometimes I think I’ve tried them all. I will keep trying, for I have not yet succeeded. I have an amazing support group, and I will succeed. Some how, some way. Some band, some day.

Some links to some of my work (with Mike Stebe, I can’t take ALL the credit)

Howdy Y’all…

Here’s some links to what I’ve been up to, check out these great bands & go to their shows, and buy their stuff, and tell everyone you know about them.

there’s a whole bunch more but not everyone has released the music yet, so I can’t brag about them yet. Just enjoy the above links, and make sure you come see my new band Waiting On Wonders at House of Blues in Orlando on May 14th!!!

Please “like” this. I wanna post some music, but I need to know you’re listening before I do :)

My new band, Waiting On Wonders will be playing at this event. Please come!!! I’ll try to post some music & photos before then but there’s a good chance I won’t get to because I’m too busy with other artists. But I encourage you to come see it live for the first time. Its just better that way. Come to the event at noon on March 20th and stay the whole day to get your money’s worth. There are some awesome bands playing.

I really fucking love what I do. And this year, there’s a lot to love.

New beginnings of old ways

I have been up to not just something, but many things.

I have yet another new band, but I’m coming out with a bang, so we’ll get to that another time in the near future. (yes I am fronting it, & yes I am still working with the Shut Up and Dancers)

Most importantly, I’m producing bands & solo artists out of a NEW studio with Mike Stebe in Orlando. I’m also offering my writing services to those who are into that kind of thing. With that being said, if you or anyone you know are looking to bring your ideas to life, (and then some) hit me up and we’ll find a recording package that’s right for you. If there’s one thing I do well, it’s rearrange words and melodies to fit a catchy & radio friendly mold. So if you’re ready to start selling out…. your shows… then hit me up and I’ll do all that I can to help you get there.

I’m pretty sure most of you aren’t musicians, but I know you all know a few so please spread the word. I don’t have a giant track record yet, but it grows by the day. However so far, our client list includes:

Ballyhoo! Whole Wheat Bread Truth About Vegas Danny Perez (D.P.) Crazy Carls Shut Up and Dance

…. and a few more that I’m not allowed to post yet, but trust me, you know who they are :)

Those are just the acts that we’ve recorded, there are also about 8 more that our company is developing so I hope your ears and eyes are ready, it’s going to be a great year!

Today, I bought a harmonica. On Tuesday, I’m hoping to get my hands on a soprano saxophone. I need to track those two instruments and my tracking will be complete for this demo. (which will soon be an EP or maybe even a full length depending on how much inspiration God decides to grant me in the near future) I’ve had the help of some awesome dudes from various bands, including my own current devotion, Shutup and Dance. I cannot wait to post this music & start playing out on it. I’ve been holding a lot of these words & melodies inside, waiting for the right time & place. I’ve got more ideas for The Buds than I have time for right now, as I am trying to stay focused with the SUAD crew so we can finish our album. We received a lot of awesome show offers, took most of them, and had a blast!! But now its time to get back to work.

Much Love,

Greg Shields

You’re on your own.

I was jamming with Jonny from Camerae and he started to play a riff. Once he did, these words immediately came to mind and were rapidly texted into my notepad application on my phone.

I thought I’d share them with my fab 5. (I need more followers) I don’t believe I wrote this about a situtation that I, myself was in. I feel it was more-so inspired by someone else in my life. Take a gander and let me know if it does anything for you.

Set aside your pride, for just one night. So we can decide, what’s yours & what’s mine.

Its been a long road. Its gonna take a long time. It just is what it is, and that’ll have to be fine.

I wasn’t afraid till I got here, but I’m able to cope.

Everything stayed the same as I left it, and its giving me hope.

But you’re on your own. You’re on your own. You’re on your own. You’re on your own, and you don’t even know.

Fast forward to a time, when we’re both all right.

We can go about our days. We can sleep at night.

We’re not out of line, but in the back of our minds,

we wonder how we never saw the warning signs.

Its not that its easy to let us go. I just know what I need.

I was never one for taking risks until, one was taken on me.

But you’re on your own. You’re on your own. You’re on your own. You’re on your own, and you don’t even know.

There’s more to be added but I figured I’d share this much and see where it goes. Also, I’m gonna post some new demos at www.myspace.com/gregshieldsmusic so if you haven’t already, please add me. There’ll be a new layout & all that good stuff coming asap, so get on it!!

comin’ out of my cave, and I’ve been doing just fine

For as long as I can remember, I’ve never been able to stick with living one way for much longer than a year. I’ve jumped from state to state, band to band, job to job, house to house, van to van & couch to couch in search of what really makes me a happy camper. As of now, I’ve begun taking a stab at a new stage in life. Voids are being filled, and are overflowing. Views & outlooks are different, and make more sense to me now. My eyes are open & ready to peek at whatever life’s got in store for me in the years to come. A lot of shit that mattered before, doesn’t now, and stuff that didn’t then, now does. I feel like a whole new man, with the same goal. You know the feeling you get when you’ve got on brand new socks AND underwear?

yeah… its almost like that, but cooler.
